Brian Hnat has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Brian worked at Cycle Labs as the Director of Software Engineering starting in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer II at Caring.com, where they migrated provider listings functionality to a gRPC based micro-service. At Cycle Labs, they held the position of Principal Software Developer and led a team in migrating the Cycle test automation platform to the Azure Cloud platform. Brian also worked as a Principal Software Developer at Tryon Solutions, where they launched the first version of the Cycle test automation platform and led its migration to a client-server architecture. Before that, they were a Senior Consultant at Tryon Solutions and implemented customizations of warehouse management systems. Brian also has experience as a Senior Consultant at Raelen Consulting, where they created a freight auditing software system. Brian further worked as a Master Software Engineer at RedPrairie, implementing customized versions of warehouse management systems. In their early career, they served as a Senior Programmer/Analyst at the City of Raleigh, an Environmental Scientist at Eastern Research Group, and a Laboratory Technician at Hawk Mountain Labs.

Brian Hnat attended several prestigious educational institutions and obtained degrees in various fields of study. Brian completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Environmental Science from Wilkes University, where they studied from 1989 to 1994. In 1996, Brian pursued a Master of Environmental Management (MEM) degree at Duke University, which they successfully obtained by 1998. Continuing their educational journey, they enrolled at North Carolina State University from 2002 to 2006 and earned a Master of Computer Science (MCS) degree with a specialization in Computer Science.

In addition to their academic achievements, Brian Hnat also obtained several certifications to further enhance their professional skills. Brian completed the "Extreme Ownership Foundation Course" and the "Dichotomy of Leadership Foundation Course" offered by Echelon Front in August 2022 and February 2023, respectively. Furthermore, they obtained the "Product-led Certification" from Pendo.io in February 2023. These certifications showcase their commitment to continuous learning and development in various areas of expertise.
