Jay Huang is a computational scientist who currently works at Cyclica. Jay has a background in research, having worked as a research assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children for 5 years and 6 months, during which time they applied molecular dynamics simulations to study the structure and function of complex biological systems. Jay also worked as a PhD researcher at the University of Toronto for 5 years and 6 months, during which time they developed computational methods to predict the structure of membrane proteins and the interaction of membrane proteins with membranes. In addition to their work in research, Jay has also interned in sales and marketing at Sinopharm Group Company Limited for 3 months, and has worked as an undergraduate researcher at Southwest Jiaotong University and the Key Laboratory of Advanced Technologies of Materials at Southwest Jiaotong University, where they applied quantum statistical mechanics to study the interaction of peptides with nanomaterials.
Jay Huang has a PhD in Computational Biophysics and Biochemistry from the University of Toronto, a B.Eng. in Biomedical engineering from Southwest Jiaotong University, and a B.A. in English from Southwest Jiaotong University. Jay also has certificates in accounting analytics, customer analytics, deep learning, financial engineering and risk management, machine learning, operations analytics, and people analytics from Coursera.
