Shyamal Mittra

Shyamal Mittra has extensive experience in the telecommunications and IT industry. Shyamal has held various leadership positions throughout their career, starting with Ushacomm where they worked as a Project Manager from 1993 to 1998. Shyamal then joined Computer Associates TCG Software as a Managing Consultant in 1998. From 1999 to 2003, they served as a Senior Technical Manager at Siemens, where they focused on technical pre-sales and delivery management for large programs.

Mittra's career then progressed to Satyam Computer Services, where they worked as the Director of Telecom Solutions for the ANZ region from 2003 to 2007. Following this role, they became the VP of IT and Innovation at Bharti Airtel Limited from 2007 to 2008, where they led the IT transformation programs and projects across all lines of business.

Shyamal then joined Infosys Technologies Ltd as the AVP and Global Head of Package Solutions and Services from 2008 to 2010. In this role, they oversaw the consulting solutions and package implementation business for the telecom, media, and hitech sectors.

From 2010 to 2017, Mittra worked at Ericsson Inc., starting as the Vice President and Head of OSS/BSS for Region India, where they had full P&L ownership and was responsible for sales. Shyamal then became the VP and Global Head of OSS/BSS for Digital Services, Global Services India, focusing on business transformation and OSS/BSS services for operators globally. In their final role at Ericsson, they served as the Vice President of Consulting and Systems Integration (CSI).

Following their tenure at Ericsson, Mittra became self-employed and worked as a Digital Transformation Consultant from 2017 to 2018. During this time, they collaborated closely with major utility companies, consulting firms, and telecom companies to provide CIO advisory and implement digital services and IT transformation, including app migration to the cloud.

Most recently, Mittra joined Cyient in 2018. Shyamal has held the roles of VP and Head of Delivery and Operations, North America, Communications & Utilities BU, and currently serves as the Global Head of Network and Technology Services, Communications & Utilities BU. In these roles, they have been responsible for strategy, solution development, delivery, and operations, as well as revenue and margins for the region. Shyamal has also managed large onshore and offshore teams and worked on emerging services such as integrated LNI/PNI, OSS 2.0, cloud and network analytics, and smart cities.
