Mary Standen, BSN, RN has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Mary has held various positions in medical affairs, clinical management, and nursing. Mary'smost recent role was as Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs at CymaBay Therapeutics. Prior to that, they took a sabbatical for world travel. Mary has also served as Director of Global Medical Affairs at Intercept Pharmaceuticals, Senior Clinical Manager in Hematology Oncology at Genentech, and Clinical Trial Management Associate in the HCV Pipeline at Gilead Sciences. Before transitioning into the industry, they worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager at The Mount Sinai Hospital and as a Reproductive Endocrinology Nurse Coordinator at Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York. Mary began their career as a Clinical Nurse at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Mary Standen, BSN, RN began their education in 2002 at Emory University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology, successfully completing their degree in 2006. Following this, they enrolled at New York University in 2006 and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse in 2008. During their time at New York University, they also had a brief period of study at Beijing Normal University in 2005, where they focused on Mandarin and History. In 2013, Mary Standen continued their education at Chamberlain University, earning a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in 2017.
