D. Barry Crittenden has extensive work experience in the clinical development and medical affairs field. D. Barry started their most recent role as Vice President of Clinical Development at CymaBay Therapeutics in April 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Terns Pharmaceuticals as an Executive Director of Clinical Research and Medical Affairs from January 2021 to March 2022. D. Barry also served as a Senior Director of Clinical Research at Terns Pharmaceuticals from December 2019 to December 2020.

Prior to that, they completed their fellowship and residency at NYU School of Medicine, where they specialized in rheumatology and served as the Chief Fellow during their fellowship from July 2010 to June 2012. D. Barry also worked as a Resident in Internal Medicine at NYU School of Medicine from July 2007 to June 2010.

D. Barry Crittenden started their education journey in 1994 at Harvard University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in English and American Literature and Language. D. Barry successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1998. Later, in 2002, they enrolled at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree after completing their medical education in 2007. Following a gap of a few years, D. Barry Crittenden furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at the NYU Clinical and Translational Science Institute. D. Barry achieved this degree between 2012 and 2014.
