Derrick Bethea

Derrick Bethea, M.S., currently serves as the NERC Compliance Manager and NERC Compliance Lead Specialist at Cypress Creek Renewables, providing oversight for the CIP Low Impact program to ensure compliance with FERC/NERC regulations. Prior to this role, Derrick was a Cyber Security Governance & Risk Analyst at Duke Energy Corporation, focusing on compliance with the IT503 Cybersecurity Program and NERC CIP Reliability Standards. Derrick also held the position of Lead Cyber Security Analyst for Governance, Risk, Cybersecurity & Compliance at Burns & McDonnell, where the emphasis was on protecting critical infrastructure. Additionally, Derrick has experience as a System Analyst at Edward Jones, managing over 1,050 financial production systems, and as a VDI Desktop Support/Analyst at Apex Systems, providing support for over 20,000 virtual desktops. Derrick holds a Master of Science in Cyber Security from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis.
