Peter Toomey

Peter Toomey has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Peter currently serves as the Chief Development Officer at Cypress Creek Renewables since February 2023. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Commercial Management at Rise Light & Power from March 2021 to February 2023. From September 2020 to March 2021, they worked as the Vice President of Commercial Operations at Brookfield Renewable.

Before joining Brookfield Renewable, Peter was the Vice President of Commercial Strategies at TerraForm Power from May 2018 to September 2020. In this role, they were responsible for managing the market exposure of the company's wind and solar assets in the US.

Peter also has experience at SunPower Corporation as a Senior Manager of Utility Origination, where they focused on originating offtake opportunities for utility scale solar projects in the northeastern US markets from July 2016 to April 2018.

Prior to that, Peter worked as the Director of Structured Transactions at Evolution Markets Inc. from June 2014 to June 2016. Their responsibilities included managing structured transactions within the renewable energy sector.

Peter began their career in the renewable energy industry at Iberdrola Renewables in 2008. Peter held various roles at Iberdrola, including Sr. Originator of Strategic Transactions, Sr. Originator of Energy and Environmental Products, and Manager of Environmental Markets. In these roles, they originated and managed opportunities to enhance the value of Iberdrola's US business through investment and divestment projects, as well as originating energy, capacity, and REC transactions to hedge wind generation assets.

Peter also gained experience at Community Energy, Inc. as a REC Supply Manager from October 2005 to December 2007 and at Evolution Markets as an Intern on the Renewable Energy Desk from June 2005 to August 2005.

Peter's career in the renewable energy industry began with an internship at the United Nations' Division for Sustainable Development from June 2004 to August 2004. Throughout their career, Peter has held various positions of increasing responsibility, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to the industry.

Peter Toomey has a Bachelor's degree in History from Yale University and a Master's degree in Technology and Socio-economic Planning from Roskilde University. The specific years of their education are not provided.
