Louis Masson has a diverse work experience in the field of aerospace engineering. Louis started their career in 2012 as a Mission Analyst Intern at ISIS - Innovative Solutions in Space BV, where they conducted a feasibility study for a de-orbiting module for nanosatellites. From 2013 to 2015, they worked as an Embedded Systems Engineer at the Swiss Space Center, where they were involved in software development and improvement of the center's IDE and tools for satellite projects.
Louis then joined Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne in 2015 as a Doctoral Assistant and completed their PhD in 2020. During this time, they made significant contributions to the research field of self-sensing piezoelectric actuation.
In 2020, Louis joined Astrocast as a Flight Software Engineer. Louis played a key role in developing flight software and ground support equipment for Astrocast satellites. Louis also led a successful radiation dosage test campaign for components and contributed to the design of internal communication protocols and electric propulsion systems.
Louis is currently working at CYSEC as a Flight Software Engineer, starting from 2023.
Louis Masson's education history begins in 2008 when they enrolled at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) to pursue a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Master of Science (MSc) in Microengineering with a focus on Robotics and autonomous systems. Louis completed their studies in 2013.
After their undergraduate and master's degree, Louis Masson continued their academic journey at EPFL. From 2016 to 2020, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Robotics, Control, and Intelligent Systems. During this time, they conducted research and studied advanced topics in this field.
In addition to their formal education, Louis Masson also obtained a Level 2 Diver (N2) certification from CMAS (World Underwater Federation) in July 2013. This certification indicates their proficiency in diving at a certain depth.
Overall, Louis Masson has a strong educational background in robotics and control systems, with a combination of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from EPFL.
