Jim Molloy

Principal Data Scientist at Cytiva

Jim Molloy has over 30 years of work experience in various roles at different companies. Jim started their career at Star Market Company as a clerk during high school. Jim then worked as a research assistant at MIT and later as a teaching assistant at Carnegie Mellon University while attending graduate school. After that, they joined GE Aerospace, Neutron Devices Department, where they served as an advanced physicist and senior development engineer. In 1986, they joined GE Healthcare and took on several roles, including senior manufacturing process engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Master Black Belt, and manager of digitization and Six Sigma. Jim also worked at GE Healthcare Life Sciences and General Electric Healthcare Life Sciences, where they were a master black belt and principal data scientist responsible for data science strategy and development. In 2020, they joined Cytiva as a principal data scientist, leading a team responsible for data science and engineering. Overall, Jim Molloy has had a diverse and extensive career in data science, engineering, process improvement, and management.

Jim Molloy earned a High School Diploma from La Salle Academy in 1980. Jim then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from 1980 to 1984. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Physics at Carnegie Mellon University from 1984 to 1986. Finally, Jim completed their education by obtaining an MBA degree with a focus on Finance, Accounting, and Operations Research from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 1993 to 1996.
