Charbel Barakat began their work experience in 2004 as a Summer Associate at Shaw Pittman LLP. Charbel then worked as an Associate at Milbank LLP from 2005 to 2010, where they specialized in real estate and represented institutional lenders in complex financial transactions. In 2010, they joined Becker & Poliakoff as an Associate, primarily representing public developers in project developments and providing advice on commercial loan workouts. Barakat then worked as a Corporate / Real Estate Associate at Akerman Senterfitt from 2011 to 2012, where they represented real estate developers and advised investment banks on commercial loans and distressed debt transactions. From 2012 to the present, they have been with D.R. Horton, initially as an Associate Counsel in the East Region, and later as the Vice President and Chief Counsel for the Florida Region. In this role, they have managed all legal matters, including contract negotiation, construction-related advice, and community development district bond offerings.

Charbel Barakat attended Coral Gables Senior High for an unspecified period of time. Charbel then went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from The Johns Hopkins University, completing their studies in 2002. Following this, Barakat pursued a Juris Doctor degree in Law at New York University School of Law, completing this program in 2005.
