P. Jeffrey Ungar

Chief Scientist, TrueMask ILT at D2S

P. Jeffrey Ungar has a diverse work experience in various scientific and engineering roles. P. Jeffrey started their career as a Computer Scientist at Pacific Sierra Research in 1997, specializing in High Performance Computing and compiler engineering. P. Jeffrey then worked as a Technical Lead at SGI, where they focused on procedural shading and developing a complete RenderMan system using OpenGL. Next, they co-founded a start-up as the CTO and played a crucial role in its establishment. Following that, Ungar became a Staff Engineer at ATI Research, responsible for software design and development architecture. P. Jeffrey then joined Gauda as a Principal Scientist before moving to Apple in 2007. At Apple, they served as a Senior Scientist and worked on a wide range of subjects, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, electrical engineering, materials science, software engineering, and algorithm design. P. Jeffrey also holds several patents. Currently, Ungar holds the position of Chief Scientist for TrueMask ILT at D2S, Inc., starting from 2016.

P. Jeffrey Ungar holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University. P. Jeffrey pursued a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Chemistry and Physics at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at Queen's University, obtaining a B.Sc. in Engineering Physics.
