Jesper Koll

Jesper Koll is one of Japan’s most influential economic advisors, and a regular commentator on several news programs, including NHK, Fuji TV, Nikkei CNBC, Bloomberg, and CNN. Before becoming the founding head and CEO of WisdomTree Investments Japan in 2015, Jesper served as the Managing Director for Equity Research at JP Morgan in Tokyo (2009-2015), the Chief Economist for Merrill Lynch Japan (1999-2008), a Managing Director for the Tiger Fund (1998-1999) and the Chief Economist for JP Morgan Japan (1994-1998). He has been researching and investing in Japan since becoming a resident in 1986 and is highly regarded for his bullish view on Japan’s future. His analysis and insights have earned him a seat on several corporate and government advisory councils. In October 2016, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike appointed Jesper to her advisory board for the revitalization of Tokyo as a Financial Center. He has written three books in Japanese, “Japan’s Economy – The Envy of the World” (2017), “The End of Heisei Deflation“ (2001), and “Towards a New Japanese Golden Age” (1999).
