Kate Sargeant is an experienced professional in agricultural management, currently serving as the Programme Lead for DairyNZ since August 2019, where responsibilities include leading the DairyNZ Solutions at Scale for Water Quality programme and the Plantain Potency and Practice Programme aimed at reducing nitrate leaching. Prior experience at DairyNZ includes roles as Programme Facilitator and Senior Developer, where significant programmes focused on enhancing productivity while minimizing environmental impact. Kate's earlier positions at the Department of Environment and Primary Industries involved leading national collaborations in farm systems research and capability building. With a strong educational background, including a Master’s in Rural Systems Management from The University of Queensland and a Bachelor’s in Agricultural Science (Honours) from La Trobe University, Kate brings a wealth of expertise to the field.
