Mirjam Baarsen-Fabriek

Mirjam Baarsen-Fabriek currently serves as an Art teacher, PE teacher, Maths teacher, and Nederlandse les (moedertaal) teacher at Dakar Academy Schools since July 2023. Prior to this, Mirjam held the role of Principal and Teacher at BCS in Senegal from August 2018 to August 2023. Experience in education includes teaching at LIFE Academy from July 2014 to August 2018, leadership at Cornerstone from 2012 to 2014, and serving as a Dorm parent at Akaki Boarding from 2009 to 2012. Mirjam has also worked as a basisschool/voortgezet onderwijs/inburgering teacher at De Taaltoekel and as a Head teacher, teacher, and dorm parent at BCS between 2005 and 2008. Earlier roles include being a teacher for grade 8 at Willem van Oranje school in 2004 and a Remedial teacher at CNS Hoef/CNS De Pelikaan. The professional path commenced with teaching religious studies at 't Ogelijn in 2002. Mirjam's educational qualifications include studies at Laudius (September 2022 - June 2023), Cornerstone (2002 - 2003), and Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (1995 - 1999).
