Greg Horn joined the team in July of 2021 when his firm, Persimmon Capital Management, was acquired by Dakota. Greg brings a deep and successful entrepreneurial background to Dakota with over three decades of financial services experience building organizations and platforms to deliver efficient and creative investment advice and solutions. He leads the firm’s Philadelphia office and is responsible for expanding Dakota’s presence in the Philadelphia region, growing the practice organically and via advisor tuck-ins, acquisitions, and joint ventures.

Greg is also a member of Dakota’s Executive Team, contributing to the development and success of the firm’s culture, strategic planning, and addressing growth issues within the organization.

Greg founded Persimmon Capital Management, LP in 1998 to provide investment consulting services to family offices, high net worth families, foundations, and endowments. In 1999, Greg also founded Persimmon Research Partners, Inc., now known as ADVISORport, Inc., since being acquired by PFPC Worldwide, Inc. ADVISORport provides technology and operational infrastructure outsourcing services to enterprise financial services companies such as Charles Schwab, SunTrust, and Nationwide. Assets under administration at ADVISORport have grown from $400 million in 1999 to over $100 billion today.

Before the formation of Persimmon, Greg was President and co-founder of Ashbridge Investment Management, Inc., where he developed all facets of the investment consulting capacity for a family holding company. Assets under supervision reached nearly $1 billion by 1998. Before Ashbridge, he was a Vice President of Mellon Bank, heading the Personal and Family division of Mellon Private Capital Management, the high net worth group within Mellon’s Trust Department.

Greg is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he received a bachelor’s degree and an MBA.

Greg is an avid golfer, enjoys fitness, and loves to travel. He and his wife Kathy have two daughters, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter.
