Chad Harvey

Director Of IT at Dakota Wesleyan University

Chad Harvey has a diverse work experience in the field of IT. Chad started their career in 1996 as a HelpDesk Manager at Rural Area Internet Network, where they provided front-line dial-up connection support and managed a team of five employees. Chad then worked at William Woods University from 1997 to 2005, serving as a Network Administrator/Interim Director. In this role, they developed strategic plans, increased IT awareness, and implemented IT policies for campus users. Chad also worked as an Adjunct Instructor, where they taught networking and troubleshooting techniques and prepared students for employment.

In 2005, Chad joined the University of Missouri Health Care as a Network Systems Analyst until 2012, where they were responsible for network systems analysis. Chad then joined the Houston Astros as a Network Administrator and later as the Director of IT from 2012 to 2016, where they oversaw network administration and IT operations.

In 2016, Chad joined Dakota Wesleyan University as the Director of IT, a position they currently hold. Lastly, in 2021, they briefly worked as the Director of Information Technology for the Baltimore Orioles.

Chad Harvey holds a Certificate of Personal Financial Planning from the University of Missouri-Columbia, earned between 2007 and 2010. Chad also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications from the University of Central Missouri, completed from 1989 to 1993. In addition, Chad has additional certifications such as Definity Switch Administration, KeyVoice Technician Certification, Microsoft Certified Professional, and Network Technical Support Brainbench Certification.
