Jordan Dea-Mattson was VP of Engineering and leads Carousell’s engineering team. He oversaw the development, systems design and delivery of product and infrastructure. Jordan wrote his first line of code in 1981, and developed his entire career in software engineering. He has more than 35 years of experience from Silicon Valley, having spent many of his earlier years in Apple working on the Macintosh up to Mac OS X. After leaving Apple, he took on different engineering roles in Adobe and Yahoo. Jordan uprooted from America and came to Singapore in 2016 because he believes that Southeast Asia will experience profound growth and change in the next few decades.
He is extremely passionate about using technology to solve problems at scale, as well as nurturing talent and building a worldclass engineering community in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
