Manuel De Jesus Contreras

Manuel De Jesus Contreras is currently serving as the President of EV Engineering at Dallas Formula Racing, where responsibilities include organizing engineering team schedules and preparing for a competition set for summer 2025. Previously, Manuel held roles as the EV Chief Engineer and EV Electrical Lead, managing electrical development for an EV car in the Formula Society of Automotive Engineers competition and overseeing workflow among team members. As an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas at Dallas, Manuel developed a Magnetic Equivalent Circuit simulation model in MATLAB for analyzing Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines and compared results with ANSYS Maxwell FEA findings. Additionally, an internship at General Motors provided valuable experience in electrical engineering, while a leadership role as Power and Energy Society Director for IEEE UTD enhanced involvement in the engineering community. Manuel is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The University of Texas at Dallas, expected to graduate in May 2025.
