Vanessa Ellington

Vanessa Ellington has extensive law enforcement experience, currently serving as a Sergeant of Police with the Dallas Independent School District since April 2004, where responsibilities include fostering collaborative relationships and managing property and evidence units. Previously, Vanessa held the position of Police Sergeant at DART from June 2001 to April 2004 and began the career as a Police Officer with the City of Dallas from September 1991 to June 2000, engaging in high-risk calls, securing crime scenes, and conducting investigations. Prior to a law enforcement career, Vanessa worked as a Legal Secretary at Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas from March 1988 to September 1991, specializing in legal research and drafting. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from Paul Quinn College.
