Jennifer Guzmán

Director Of Education at Dallas Symphony Chorus

Jennifer Guzmán has a diverse work experience in the music industry. Jennifer currently serves as the Director of Education at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, a position they have held since March 2020. Prior to this, they owned TB Winds, a woodwind/brass repair and retail store in Denton, which they established in November 2017. Jennifer also worked as a Program Director at Texas Winds Musical Outreach, where they expanded the program to Denton County and maintained relationships with nursing homes and other facilities, coordinated musicians' performances, and performed concerts. Jennifer has also taught courses in nonprofit leadership, music entrepreneurship, and clarinet instruction at the University of North Texas and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Additionally, they worked as a Development Assistant at The Perlman Music Program and served as a Coordinator and Performer at Texas Winds Musical Outreach. Jennifer started their career as an Orchestra Management Apprentice at The Juilliard School and interned at the Education Department of the New York Philharmonic.

Jennifer Guzmán's education history includes three major achievements. Jennifer attended the State University of New York College at Potsdam from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree with a focus on Music Teacher Education. Following that, they pursued a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance at the University of North Texas from 2011 to 2013. Later, from 2015 to 2018, they attended the same institution to complete a DMA degree in Clarinet Performance and Music Entrepreneurship.
