Denise McGovern

Denise McGovern is the current VP of Communications & Media at Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Denise has over 15 years of experience in the music industry, with a focus on digital sales and marketing for classical and crossover genres.

Denise began their career in 2000 as an account executive at International Public Relations. Denise then spent two years as the communications manager at Andante before joining Universal Music Classics in 2003 as a marketing coordinator. In 2004, they were promoted to digital sales manager, overseeing all digital retail sales accounts and digital sales strategy for Decca Label Group.

During their time at Decca Label Group, Denise was responsible for the rollout of sales and promotion for some of the largest names in music, including Elton John, Sting, Annie Lennox, and Tori Amos. Denise also managed the Decca and Deutsche Grammophon classical labels. In 2013, Denise left Universal Music to join Dallas Symphony Orchestra as VP of Communications & Media.

In their current role, Denise is responsible for leading the communications and media strategy for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Denise oversees all public and media relations initiatives, including press releases, media relations, and social media outreach. Denise also manages the orchestra's website and online presence. Under their leadership, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra has seen significant growth in its online reach and engagement.

Denise McGovern has a Masters of Music in Arts Administration from Indiana University Bloomington and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from Southern Methodist University.

They are on a team with Drew Cameron - Chief Financial Officer, Debi Peña - VP of Community Relations, Facilities & HR, and Kim Burgan - VP of Sales & Marketing.
