Andrea Gaffney

Andrea Gaffney has a diverse work experience in the corporate affairs and renewable energy sectors. Andrea is currently the Head of Corporate Affairs at Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) since September 2023. Prior to this, Andrea founded and served as the Managing Director at Planet Renewables in November 2017. Andrea also worked as the Net Zero Pathways Lead-Asia Pacific, New Zealand, and Australia at Mott MacDonald from April 2021 to January 2024.

Andrea's previous roles include Group Manager Communications and Corporate Affairs at Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) from December 2019 to November 2020, and General Manager Strategic Communication at Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) from July 2013 to October 2016. Andrea also served as a Non-executive Director at ATA Alternative Technology Association in 2013 and held the position of Acting Chief Executive / Chief Operating Officer at Committee for Melbourne from November 2011 to November 2012.

Prior to their roles in the renewable energy sector, Andrea worked as an External Affairs Director at BP Solar from June 2009 to December 2010 and as a Government Relations Manager at BP Solar from January 2005 to July 2008. Andrea also worked as the National Government Relations Manager at Clean Energy Council from August 2008 to March 2009.

Andrea Gaffney earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a focus on Accounting from La Trobe University between 1987 and 1990. In 2015, they attended the London Business School to complete the Senior Executive Programme. Prior to their university studies, Andrea attended Fintona Girls School.
