Durganand Kulkarni began their work experience at Kirloskar Pneumatic Company Limited in 1993 as an R&D Engineer. In 1994, they joined Mather +Platt (I) Ltd. as a Design Executive. In 1997, they joined Dana Holding Corporation and has held various roles, starting as a Senior Engineer in Manufacturing Engineering. Durganand then progressed to Product Application Engineering, International Application Engineering, and Senior Manager in Application Engineering. Durganand was promoted to Deputy General Manager and Head of Application Engineering for axles in 2011, and finally promoted to General Manager of Application Engineering for Axles in 2016. Durganand Kulkarni completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from VIT - Pune University from 1989 to 1993. Durganand then pursued a Masters in Management Science with a focus on Systems at Pune University from 1996 to 1997. In 2015 to 2016, they completed a Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing (VLFM) program at Japanese International Cooperation Agency - JICA- Tokyo. Durganand also participated in a Certification in Strategy and Business Acumen program at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and completed a Visionary Leader for Manufacturing program at JICA-Japan, although specific start and end years are not provided for these two certifications.
