Stephen Laster

Stephen Laster is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in educational technology and digital transformation. Currently serving as President and Chief Operating Officer at D2L since January 2022, Laster focuses on enhancing client experiences and developing a robust learning platform. Previously, Laster held key roles at Ellucian, including Strategic Advisor to the CEO and Chief Product Officer, driving product strategy for over 2,700 global clients. As Chief Digital and Learning Officer at Penn Foster, Laster supported educational pathways for diverse learner segments. Earlier career highlights include serving as Chief Digital Officer at McGraw-Hill Education, transforming the organization into a provider of personalized learning solutions, and as Chief Information Officer at Harvard Business School, spearheading technology renewal initiatives. Laster has also consulted for numerous industries and led innovative educational programs at Babson College. Laster holds a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business.
