Dr. Emma Burgess currently serves as the Principal at Danebank Anglican School for Girls, a position held since January 2020. In addition, Dr. Burgess is a Board Member of the Independent Girls' Schools Association since December 2022. Prior experience includes the role of Head of Teaching and Learning (P-12) at Redlands from January 2017 to January 2020, and Head of Senior School at St Michael's Collegiate School during 2015-2016. Dr. Burgess has also held positions as Deputy Principal at Guilford Young College from 2013 to 2015 and served as an Executive Committee Member for the Australian College of Educators and Australian Music Examinations Board from 2013 to 2016. Dr. Burgess completed a PhD in Educational Leadership at the University of Tasmania following a Master of Educational Management from the University of Melbourne, where Dr Emma graduated at the top of their class. Educational credentials also include a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Teaching from Macquarie University, along with an Associate Diploma of Music in Pianoforte from the Australian Music Examinations Board.
