Richard Matthew Carrillo

Richard Matthew Carrillo is an accomplished Artistic Director at Unit J since November 2015, where responsibilities include shaping the artistic vision, selecting performances, recruiting talent, managing production schedules, and overseeing budgets. As Festival Director for the Bushwick Short Film Showcase since September 2021, Carrillo manages staff, programming, recruitment, and financial operations, including writing funding applications and securing sponsorships. Additionally, Carrillo has been an Actor with the Daniel Hoff Agency since January 2012 and previously owned and operated Far Quarter Cultivators, a business specializing in high CBD hemp products from March 2015 to October 2017. Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts from UCLA between 2007 and 2011.
