Jakob Steffensen

Jakob Steffensen is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in maritime sustainability and innovation. Holding the position of Director for Biodiversity and Eco-Innovation at DFDS since September 2018, Jakob also serves as the Director, Innovation Lead, and oversees Sustainable Fleet Projects. In addition, Jakob is the Chairman Of The Board at Green Ship of the Future, a member of the European Sustainable Shipping Forum with the European Commission, and holds multiple roles within Danske Rederier, including Member of the Climate Change Advisory Board and Chairman of the Innovation Committee. Prior to these roles, Jakob served as Senior Manager at DFDS, Superintendent at J. Lauritzen A/S and Lauritzen Bulkers A/S, and held various positions at J. Lauritzen A/S and Scandlines. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Copenhagen Business School and a Master Mariner degree from Fanø Navigationsskole.
