Karina Harpsøe has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Karina started their career as a Financial Controller at Danmarks Nationalbank in 1998 and worked there for six years. Karina then joined Deloitte in 2004 as a Manager, where they performed various tasks within the finance function, including management, controlling, process optimization, and implementation of best practices.

In 2011, Karina joined the European Central Bank, where they served as a Member of the Accounting and Monetary Income Committee and the Working Group on Accounting Issues. Karina was actively involved in discussing accounting and monetary income matters.

Returning to Danmarks Nationalbank in 2011, Karina took on the role of Special Consultant, Accounting & Project Specialist. Karina'sresponsibilities included external accounting reporting, integration of business systems with accounting systems, accounting compliance, and communication with departmental personnel regarding financial reporting and processes.

Later, Karina advanced within Danmarks Nationalbank and became the Chief Financial Officer in October 2021. In this position, they were responsible for financial reporting, controlling, and internal financial management of the Nationalbank and Danmarks statsgældsforvaltning. Karina led a section with 16 employees and focused on implementing new business systems and tools for automated control and accounting reporting.

Additionally, Karina holds various roles outside their direct employment. Karina is a Member of the AAUBS Business Advisory Council at Aalborg University Business School since 2023, contributing their expertise to advising the business school.

Karina Harpsøe's education history began in 1995 when they attended Vejle Handelsskole and earned their HHX degree. Karina then went on to Copenhagen Business School, where they obtained a degree in Accounting in 1999, followed by a Cand.Merc.Aud degree in Accounting and Audit in 2007. In 2009, Karina attended Henley Business School, where they completed the Deloitte CFO Programme and obtained a Master's degree. In 2014, they attended Center for Ledelse and completed the PROLOG - Samlet lederforløb for ledere uden personaleansvar. Karina'seducation journey continued from 2018 to 2020 at Finanssektorens Uddannelsescenter, where they pursued a Master's in Leadership (equivalent to an MBA or MMD) with a specialization in leadership.
