Shane Roy, EIT has a diverse range of work experience in engineering and research. Shane started their career as a Plumber's Assistant at Joe Roy and Son's Plumbing and Heating. During their time there, they observed and diagnosed control wiring in hydronic heating systems and learned to operate hand and power tools. This position was held during winter breaks throughout their school career.

In 2017, Shane worked as an Assembler at Sparton Corporation. Here, they worked on mechanical and electronic assemblies for Raytheon and UTC, interpreting wiring schematics. Shane also developed new manufacturing processes to improve efficiency.

From 2018 to 2020, Shane worked at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Shane served as a Resident Advisor for Residence Life, hosting inclusive programs for residents and solving problems under pressure. Shane was also a member of the Research Staff, where they designed and printed upgrade parts for 3D printers and contributed to research projects involving complex permittivity and permeability measurements. Shane gained extensive experience using laboratory equipment for chemical, mechanical, and electrical applications.

Shane joined DAPR Engineering, LLC in 2019 as a Controls Engineer Co-op. Shane worked in all aspects of designing, modeling, building, programming, and troubleshooting automation systems for various industries. This position continued as a Controls Engineer II, where they designed and integrated automation systems using AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks.
