Ian Ellis has extensive work experience in engineering and leadership roles. Ian is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Darchem Engineering Limited, where they are responsible for the engineering function across multiple divisions and developing strategic plans for growth in various industries. Prior to this, they served as the Technical Director at Aeromet International LTD, where they worked on increasing turnover and managing projects for aerospace OEMs. Ian also held the position of Engineering Director at PCC Aerostructures, where they oversaw the engineering strategy and implemented continuous improvement processes. Earlier in their career, Ian worked as an Engineering Manager at GE, a Business Manager at Applied CAE, and as an Owner-Director of iCAD360, an engineering design consultancy. Ian also had experience as an Engineering Project Manager at CLF Technologies, a Project Engineer at Eminox Ltd, and an Aircraft Engineer in the Royal Air Force.

Ian Ellis has a diverse education history in the field of engineering and industrial management. In 1998, they attended De Montfort University and obtained a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2001. During this time, in 2002, Ian also earned a Diploma in Engineering Management from the University of Greenwich.

Continuing their education, Ian enrolled in The Open University in 2002, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. Ian completed their degree in 2010.

In 2017, Ian undertook the Manufacturing Directors Programme at Cranfield University, focusing on Engineering and Industrial Management, which they successfully completed.

Additionally, in 2002, Ian attained the General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH.
