Dennis van Dommelen

Dennis van Dommelen has a diverse work experience. Dennis is currently a PhD student and research assistant at the University of Minnesota. Previously, they worked at DARcorporation as an engineering consultant and aerospace engineer, where they led a team in completing government contracts and conducted aerodynamic analysis on satellite radomes and fairings. Dennis also worked as an aerospace engineering intern at DARcorporation, where they conducted research on propeller power effects. In addition, Dennis was a research affiliate in aerospace engineering at The University of Kansas. Dennis gained experience as an intern ICT consultant at KPN Consulting, where they performed market analysis on IT applications in aviation. Dennis also worked as an ICT specialist at Studentaanhuis.nl. Prior to that, Dennis worked as a paperboy at Netwerk VSP. Dennis was also recognized for their innovative idea in the Creative Challenge held by KLM/Schiphol, where they were nominated for the best idea.

Dennis van Dommelen has a strong educational background in aerospace engineering. Dennis obtained their high school education from Christelijk Lyceum Veenendaal between 2005 and 2011, specializing in Nature and Techniques. Subsequently, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology, graduating between 2011 and 2014. Building upon their foundation, Dennis then pursued a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology, graduating between 2014 and 2017.

In addition to their academic achievements, Dennis has also obtained several certifications related to aviation. Dennis earned a Private Glider Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration in August 2018, followed by a Private Aircraft Pilot certification in the same month of that year. Most recently, in July 2020, they obtained the Commercial Pilot Glider certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. These certifications reflect their dedication to expanding their skills and knowledge in the aviation field.
