Rana Movahed

Rana Movahed is currently serving as a Senior Contracting & Agreements Officer at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) since May 2023. Prior to this role, Rana worked as a Senior Procurement Analyst at the Department of the Navy Research, Development, and Acquisition (RD&A) from May 2022 to May 2023, supporting the Program Analysis and Business Transformation Team. Rana's extensive experience includes a position as a Supervisory Contracting Officer at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) from October 2016 to May 2022, where responsibilities included leading the Surface Ship Repair Execution Branch. Previously, Rana held the role of Deputy Division Director at the United States Department of Defense from September 2008 to October 2016, contributing to the establishment of the Rota Fleet Contracting Division in Spain, and also served as a Contract Specialist within NAVSEA. Rana holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance & Marketing from the University of Virginia and an MBA in International Business from The George Washington University School of Business, along with a Level III Contracting Certification from Defense Acquisition University.
