Slayden Mitchell

Slayden Mitchell is currently the VP of Engineering & Operations at Dasera. Prior to this, they served as the Sr. Director of Strategy & Planning - Chief of Staff, DevNet at Cisco from March 2017 to June 2021.

At Cisco, Mitchell's initial focus was to introduce and implement OKRs with the team in order to build cross-functional dynamic teams while also empowering managers to organize and align. In support of agility, they introduced processes for managing budget, implemented a new organizational design, and scaled the DevNet platform and DevNet events. With a shared strategy and strong culture, the DevNet Team successfully reached the milestone of 500,000 community members - making DevNet the largest networking developer community in the world.

As Chief of Staff for the DevNet and CX Ecosystem Success team, Mitchell led strategy and operations while expanding the DevNet team 600+ team including leading communications, marketing, events, and finance. Successfully guiding the team through two transformative organizational changes, their focus was on defining a strategy for success and building alignment from the executive team to each individual towards clear outcomes. During this tenure, April incubated a cross-functional team of data scientists and business analysts to deliver real-time actionable insights for the DevCX team.

Slayden Mitchell has a certificate from Stanford Ignite in Powering Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. They also have an MS in Computer Science from the University of Rochester and a BS in Computer Science from Millsaps College. They are certified in Results Management Certified (RME) from WorkBoard and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner. They are also certified in Cisco Certified DevNet Associate and Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Project Owner.
