Patrick McCauley

With more than 33 years of experience building and leading the nation’s most elite high functioning teams as part of the U.S. military, Patrick brings a unique perspective to the DCVC portfolio. He is a lifelong student of leadership and built a reputation as a transformative leader whose vision and advice were relied on by some of the most storied leaders in the U.S. Department of Defense. Patrick’s ability to not only help organizations build effective strategies but develop cohesive teams to execute in incredibly complex multi-national environments were hallmarks of his service to the nation. He brings this unique experience to DCVC’s portfolio companies, helping guide entrepreneurs as they navigate the challenging task of building robust businesses that tackle some the world’s greatest issues.

Before joining DCVC, Patrick served at every level of the U.S. Special Operations enterprise, culminating his military career as the 9th Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the 82,000 men and women assigned to the United States Special Operations Command.
