Bas Harenslak

Bas Harenslak is a seasoned data engineer and architect with extensive experience in data engineering and software development. Currently serving as a Staff Architect at Astronomer since July 2021, Bas also co-authored the book "Data Pipelines with Apache Airflow" and holds a committer position for Apache Airflow at The Apache Software Foundation. In addition, Bas co-organizes the Data Council Amsterdam events focused on data engineering and science. Previous roles include working at GoDataDriven as a data engineer for various clients, including TuneIn, Flow Traders, Pathé Theatres B.V., Booking.com, and Unilever Food Solutions, where Bas developed innovative data solutions and cloud transitions. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Science from Leiden University and a Bachelor of ICT from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
