Ruth Shacterman has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Ruth started their career in 1998 as a Technical Lead/Senior Programmer at Econoday Online Inc., where they were involved in the design and development of new products and feeds, as well as the migration and maintenance of legacy software. In 2004, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Database Republic. From 2006 to 2008, they held the role of Consultant/Senior Programmer at Database Republic, where they worked on various consulting projects and designed and developed a Java-based Process Design Testing Framework. Ruth then joined DBR/Compliance and Risks Ltd. in 2006 as a Senior Software Engineer/Project Manager, specializing in the design and development of the Compliance-to-Product (C2P) knowledge management product. At Compliance & Risks, Ruth held multiple roles, including Solutions Engineer from 2010 to 2012, Senior Frontend Developer/UX Lead from 2008 to 2010, Product Owner and UX Lead from 2012 to 2016, and Senior Product Owner from 2016 to 2023. Throughout their tenure at Compliance & Risks, they played a key role in the evolution and success of compliance management products and saw significant increases in user adoption. In 2023, they joined Database Republic as a Solutions Engineer.
Ruth Shacterman obtained a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy/Semantics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 1984 to 1988. Ruth then pursued a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maryland, from 1992 to 1994. In 2000 to 2002, they attended California State University, Chico, where they studied Computer Science. Ruth also holds several certifications such as "Agile Project Management with Jira Cloud: 1 Projects, Boards, and Issues," "Systems Thinking for Product Designers," "Technology for Product Managers," "Technical Product Management," "What Is Web3?," and "PSPOTM Professional Scrum Product Owner 2021/22 training programmeDCM Learning." These certifications were obtained from various institutions such as LinkedIn and DCM Learning, with the most recent certification acquired in May 2021.
