Zia Syed has a diverse work experience spanning from 2012 to 2022. They began their career as a Software Engineer at Infinera in 2012, where they successfully transitioned the company's database system from Oracle to Cassandra for improved efficiency. In 2013, they worked as a Hardware Engineer at Infinera, optimizing OSC and conducting tests on wavelengths and FRU states.
In 2014, Zia joined IBM as a Software Engineering DBA, where they developed and debugged database analysis dashboards and created automation tests for Install Verification. They then moved on to Cisco in 2015, starting as a Software Engineer Co-Op and later becoming a Software Sales Systems Engineer. At Cisco, they worked on programming proof of concepts, enhancements, and developed a network Quality of Experience tool.
From 2021 to 2022, Zia worked at Forethought as a Sales Engineering Manager, utilizing AI and data insights to improve customer support and experience. Currently, in 2022, Zia works at DataBased as the Head of CX.
