Kyungsoon Kelly Um

Kyungsoon Kelly Um is a highly accomplished technology leader currently serving as Senior Director of Field Engineering APJ at Databricks since June 2024, overseeing the technical field team in Korea. Prior to this role, Kyungsoon was the Director and CTO of Google Cloud Korea from July 2022 to June 2024, where responsibilities included guiding customers and partners in leveraging Google Cloud technologies. Kyungsoon’s extensive career at IBM, spanning over three decades, included various significant roles such as Director & CTO for both ASEAN/APAC and Korea, where efforts focused on open hybrid cloud solutions and digital transformation initiatives for major clients. Academic credentials encompass a Master's in Software Engineering from Sogang University, a Bachelor's in Statistics from Kyungpook National University, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Soongsil University, and additional executive education at Seoul National University.
