David Tulga

David Tulga has a diverse work experience across multiple companies and roles. David currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Iterative since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Asimov from July 2019 to August 2022, where they designed and supported laboratory records and sequence databases, implemented APIs and data analysis pipelines, and integrated internal systems with external APIs and machine learning teams.

Before joining Asimov, David worked at Freenome from October 2017 to March 2019 as a Senior Software Engineer. Their responsibilities included maintaining a patient and genomic information database, implementing APIs, integrating machine learning algorithms, and supporting laboratory scientists.

From November 2016 to August 2017, David was the Founder of TransReality Technology, Inc., where they created an open-source framework called arcBlocks for cross-platform mobile apps and games in C++. David also developed UI building blocks and custom library functions using SDL library.

David also worked at Mixpanel as a Software Engineer from July 2016 to October 2016, where they upgraded and maintained the analytics backend and optimized Mixpanel's services using Go, C++, and Docker containers.

Prior to Mixpanel, David worked at Google as a Software Engineer from July 2014 to April 2016. David worked on improving Google Ads infrastructure and analytics backends, led a team of junior software engineers, and performed security analysis.

David's early work experience includes working at Harvard University - Wall Lab as a Genomics Researcher and Cloud Computing Developer from March 2012 to March 2014. David developed a network-enrichment algorithm for analyzing genomic sequencing data and created OceanFileSystem, a file format to store complex data. David also developed a cluster management suite and performed size and length control research in zebrafish fin regeneration.

Overall, David Tulga has a strong background in software engineering, particularly in designing and implementing databases, APIs, and data analysis pipelines. David also has experience in cross-platform app development, cloud computing, and genomics research.

David Tulga attended Harvard University from 2009 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Systems Biology. Prior to that, they studied at the University of California, Berkeley from 2005 to 2009, and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering.
