As a native Ohioan, Christa’s path to her current role as HPA’s Marketing Associate was anything but conventional. The issue of healthcare became an outlier for her early in life when she began her lifelong battle with Lyme disease at 14-years-old. Christa went on to first attend an Arizona college in the mid-1990s where she developed a love of writing. Sadly, she was thrown off course with the passing of three close family members from cancer within a short period. Despite the interruption of her education, Christa promoted personal wellness by developing a successful hypnosis practice where she guided hundreds of clients through various medical obstacles. Over the course of her practice, she became increasingly focused on the politics of healthcare and decided she should finish her degree to have a greater impact. After starting over as a non-traditional student, she graduated summa cum laude earning her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Portland State University. Since then, she used the research and writing skills she honed during school combined with her communication expertise to launch a freelance marketing career working with multiple companies she believed in.
