Ian Rice has a diverse and extensive work experience. Ian currently holds the position of Senior Director, Head of Customer Success at DataGrail since June 2023. Prior to this, from January to May 2023, they worked as the Director, Head of Customer Success at People.ai. Before that, from January 2021 to March 2023, Ian served as the Director, Customer Success - Enterprise & Strategic Accounts at People.ai. From March 2017 to November 2018, Ian worked as GTM Strategy & Operations at Techspring Partners, where they were the top internal consultant for a global software investment firm. Ian was involved in loaning to start-up companies in the portfolio and played a key role in developing sales on-boarding training systems and creating quantitative hiring processes.
Before that, from December 2017 to February 2018, Ian operated as an Independent Consultant at Ian Rice Consulting. During this time, they created and executed sales process redesign for a boutique fitness chain with 70+ locations, and led keynote process workshop at the franchisee national convention. Ian achieved remarkable results, including tripling new membership sales at a top location within one month of process implementation.
From June 2015 to March 2017, Ian served as the CEO of CircleShout, where they led a 15-member cross-functional team, providing IOT device management to enterprise restaurant chains. Ian successfully launched a custom IOT app for a global fast-food chain and mapped a turn-key IOT solution for the top gelato machine manufacturer in Europe. Prior to this role, they briefly worked as the Director of Business Development at CircleShout from September 2014 to June 2015.
Ian's career began at Deloitte, where they worked as a Consultant from July 2012 to August 2014. During their tenure, they held key roles on seven projects in six states, including EHR implementations, REIT conversions, social media strategy, recruiting, and internal mentoring. Some notable accomplishments include coordinating 50+ discovery sessions across the USA, Europe, and Asia for a cloud storage provider and implementing presentation guidelines and reporting standards for an 8+ location hospital network, resulting in improved meeting efficiency.
In 2011, Ian had a brief role as a Marketing Strategy Analyst at LifeWaves International, LLC, from July to September.
Ian Rice graduated from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Prior to attending university, they completed their high school education at South Tahoe High School, although no specific degree or field of study is provided for that period. In addition to their formal education, Ian obtained several certifications throughout their career, including the Finance Essentials Micro-Certification Program and the Managing Time and Priorities Micro-Certification Program, both from Harvard Business Publishing. Ian also obtained the Epic Care Inpatient Clinical Documentation certification from Epic, and completed the Leadership Development Program at California Polytechnic State University in 2009.
