Hugh Farquhar

Hugh Farquhar has extensive work experience in the security and crisis management field. Hugh currently holds the position of VP of Product - Corporate Security at Dataminr since July 2021. Prior to that, they founded and served as CEO of WatchKeeper, a unified situational awareness platform that maps assets, visualizes risk events, and provides real-time alerts, from February 2019 to July 2021.

Hugh also worked at Citi for several years, starting as an AVP, Strategic Intelligence Analyst (EMEA) from June 2009 to January 2012, where they monitored political and violent risks across 54 countries in the EMEA region. Hugh then served as VP, Security Intelligence Manager (EMEA) from January 2012 to April 2015, overseeing a team of four intelligence analysts and providing analytical capabilities. From April 2015 to June 2016, they held the role of Chief of Staff, and from May 2016 to February 2019, they were the SVP, Global Security & Crisis Management, responsible for managing the global travel security program and crisis logistics at Citibank.

Prior to joining Citi, Hugh worked as a Research Analyst at Alaco, a corporate intelligence company, from November 2006 to June 2009. Their role involved managing the company's largest client, overseeing a team of research analysts, and producing reports focused on reputational risks. Before that, they worked as a Security Analyst at Olive Group's Analysis and Assessment department from June 2006 to November 2006, focusing on risk analysis in conflict zones.

Hugh Farquhar completed their BA (Hons) in International Relations at Nottingham Trent University from 2003 to 2006. From 2018 to 2020, Hugh pursued an Executive MBA at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School's London Campus located at The Shard.
