John Abbot

John Abbot has a diverse and extensive work experience. John currently holds the role of Chief Financial Officer at Dataminr since January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Datto, Inc. from March 2020 to June 2022. Before Datto, Inc., they worked as the EVP & CFO at Cumulus Media, Inc. from July 2016 to February 2020. John also held the same position at Telx from January 2014 to December 2015 and at Insight Communications from January 2004 to March 2012. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley from January 1995 to January 2004, and as an Associate, Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs from 1992 to 1994. Prior to their career in finance, they served as a Surface Warfare Officer (LCDR) in the US Navy from 1984 to 1990.

John Abbot's education history begins with their attendance at Indian Springs from 1976 to 1980, where they did not earn a degree or have a specific field of study. Later, they attended the United States Naval Academy from 1979 to 1984, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Systems Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, from 1987 to 1990, John pursued a Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree at Penn State University, specializing in Computer Control of Manufacturing Systems. Lastly, from 1990 to 1992, they attended Harvard Business School, where they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
