Gert van Assche

Gert Van Assche is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the language services and artificial intelligence sectors. Currently serving as the Business Owner at Bunka since January 2022, Gert previously held the position of CTO and Innovation Hub Leader at DATAmundi from January 2014 to October 2025, where significant advancements were made in transforming a traditional translation company into an AI-focused services provider. Gert co-founded Symbyonics, LLC and its Fair Trade Translation platform, enhancing fairness in the language services market. Prior roles include Data Manager at Language Weaver, Founder of DATAmundi, Lecturer at KHL university college, European Operations Manager & IT Manager at ITP Europe, and Project Manager & Technical Manager at SDL.
