Nicolas Gelders

Nicolas Gelders has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Nicolas worked as a Data/Cloud Engineer (Consultant) at dataroots from January 2020. Nicolas then joined VRT as a Data/Cloud Engineer from March 2020 until October 2021. In addition, Nicolas worked as a Python Developer at dploy.ai for a brief period from January 2020 to March 2020. Prior to that, they held the positions of Software Engineer and Software Developer at PTM Group from September 2016 to January 2020. Currently, they are employed as a Big Data Cloud Engineer at KBC Bank & Verzekering since October 2021.

Nicolas Gelders has a strong educational background in the field of Industrial Engineering and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Nicolas pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Electronics and ICT at Ghent University from 2014 to 2017. Following this, they completed their Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering with a major in Image Processing at Ghent University from 2017 to 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Nicolas has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and expertise. Nicolas became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate in January 2020, demonstrating their knowledge and proficiency in designing and deploying scalable solutions using Amazon Web Services. Nicolas further expanded their skillset by obtaining the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certification from HashiCorp in April 2021, showcasing their ability to utilize Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management. Nicolas also achieved the CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator certification from The Linux Foundation in November 2021, affirming their competence in administering Kubernetes clusters. Additionally, they acquired the Astronomer Certification for Apache Airflow Fundamentals from Astronomer in May 2022, which demonstrates their proficiency in utilizing Apache Airflow for workflow automation. Most recently, Nicolas acquired the title of Prefect Associate from Prefect in April 2023, further strengthening their expertise in data engineering and workflow orchestration.
