Iskren Petrov

Iskren Petrov has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Most recently, they worked as a Cloud Platform Engineer at DataStax, where they specialized in working with the AstraDB product and writing code in GoLang. In this role, they were responsible for managing databases, configuring database instances, ensuring data consistency and security, and optimizing database performance. Iskren also used Kubernetes to manage the deployment and scaling of databases within Astra.

Prior to that, Iskren worked as a Member of Technical Staff at VMware. In this role, they contributed to the migration between Java versions of VMware Cloud Foundation and played a key role in the delivery of the Kubernetes platform in VMC and VCF. Iskren also served as a mentor in VMware's Talent Boost academy. Iskren gained valuable experience working with diverse teams from different countries, which enhanced their teamwork skills.

Earlier in their career, Iskren worked as a Full-Stack Software Engineer at SAP. Here, they were part of the development team for SAP CAL (Cloud Appliance Library). Their responsibilities included deploying fully configured demo environments and standardized system layouts for SAP products, utilizing integration with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

Throughout their work experience, Iskren Petrov has acquired a wide range of technical skills and demonstrated their ability to work effectively in diverse teams and deliver successful projects.

Iskren Petrov pursued their education at New Bulgarian University from 2019 to 2023, working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. In addition, they obtained a certification in Programming Basics with Java from Software University (softuni.bg) in December 2019.
