Christie Toolin has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Starting in 2011, they worked as a kitchen staff member at Underhill Country Store until 2013. In 2012, they also gained experience as a lab technician at the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, where they performed diagnostic tests and conducted research.

Christie's interest in public health led their to work as a research assistant at the DC Department of Health from 2014 to 2015. During this time, they maintained and organized data in the enhanced HIV/AIDS Reporting System and gained valuable knowledge about data collection, security, and privacy for surveillance.

From 2015 to 2017, Christie worked as a public health analyst at ManTech International Corporation. Here, they analyzed disease trends and risk factors among US Military personnel and managed projects related to Major Depressive Disorder.

In 2017, Christie transitioned to the field of epidemiology, joining the Global Emerging Infections Surveillance (GEIS) program. As an epidemiologist, they reviewed proposals, assisted in strategic planning, and managed over 100 surveillance efforts globally within the Febrile and Vector-borne Infections Surveillance Program.

Christie continued their work in health data analysis as a senior health data analyst at Altarum from 2019 to 2020. Then, in 2020, they joined Datastrong as a senior consultant and data analyst.

In addition to their professional experience, Christie held leadership positions in the Alpha Zeta and Sigma Alpha chapters at the University of Connecticut, where they promoted careers in agriculture, coordinated meetings, improved member involvement, and participated in community service activities.

Christie Toolin earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Connecticut, where they specialized in Veterinary Pathology and Pathobiology. Christie also completed minors in Food Science and Molecular & Cell Biology during their time at the university from 2009 to 2013. Later, they pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases from The George Washington University between 2013 and 2015.
