Dragos Velicanu

Dragos Velicanu has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Dragos is currently working as a Lead Data Engineer at Dave since November 2021. Prior to that, from January 2019 to October 2021, they served as a Staff Data Engineer at Manifold. In 2018, they worked as a Data Engineer at Insight Data Science, where they focused on designing and implementing a unified format for storing and accessing blockchain data. Before that, they were self-employed as an Algorithmic Trader from June 2017 to September 2018. Dragos also has an extensive academic background, having completed their Ph.D. in a technical field at MIT and worked as a Research Assistant at Columbia University. Additionally, they gained experience as a Summer Intern at MITRE in 2006.

Dragos Velicanu completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017. Previously, they attained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Physics from Columbia Engineering in 2010.
