Derek Brown

Derek Brown is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Director of Technology for the David Douglas School District since January 2022. Prior to this role, Derek held the position of Assistant Superintendent at Newberg School District from June 2017 to December 2022 and served as Assistant Superintendent at the Oregon Department of Education from February 2010 to October 2016. Derek Brown holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from George Fox University, earned between 2013 and 2016, a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Secondary Education and Teaching from Pacific University, completed in 1999, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music from Pacific University, awarded in 1998.
