Vance Jackson

President & CEO at Davis Health System

Vance Jackson is the current President & CEO at Davis Health System. Vance has held this position since October 2015. Prior to that, they were the Chief Executive Officer at Hancock County Health System from June 2006 to October 2015.

Under Jackson's leadership, Hancock County Health System installed an Electronic Health Record. This made Hancock County Health System the first rural hospital network in the United States to simultaneously install an Electronic Health Record. Jackson also guided the system through $15 million in capital improvements and expansion while upholding a strong cash flow and EBIDA.

Patient satisfaction scores at Hancock County Health System are consistently above the 90th percentile. In 2009, the health system was awarded the NICHE (Nurses Improving the Care for Health System Elders) Designation, in recognition of its commitment and continued progress in improving quality, enhancing the patient and family experience and supporting efforts to improve the community it serves. In 2013, Hancock County Health System was recognized by IVantage Health Analytics as a HealthStrong Award winner for Excellence in Efficiency, reflecting top quartile performance among all acute care hospitals in the US.

Jackson has also been successful in reducing heart failure readmissions. Through their efforts, the pilot facility achieved a 50% reduction in heart failure readmissions. Every year since 2010, Hancock County Health System has received the Golden Award recognition for its participation in the American Heart Association’s Get-With-The-Guidelines Heart Failure program.

Most recently, Jackson has led the development of the Mercy Health Network - North Iowa's Chest Pain Network. This has created a process of care to ensure rapid treatment and transfer of STEMI and Non-STEMI patients from network CAH's to cardiac intervention at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.

Vance Jackson has a BS in Management from Wayland Baptist University, an MSM in Management and Quantitative Analysis from Wayland Baptist University, a Fellowship in Healthcare Executive Management from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, and a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Program from Trinity SLP.
